Finishing this review, I'm wondering why I gave it even three stars. In every feature they declare capacity for the work on hand, capacity to control and manipulate, to find the line of least resistance or to stand like a wall and defy. This review is for the 1st edition of this novel. Great read for those who enjoy this type of writing. I couldn't fathom why neither Soames nor Irene would seek to keep their secret from their adult children, when so many others around them knew the truth. I was incredibly impressed by his comprehensive writing and unique ideas.
